Emergency Medical
Services in Miami Township is corner stoned by the professional, experienced
paramedics and EMT's of IAFF Local 3768. Part time EMT's and paramedics
supplement the fulltime staff bringing the daily staffing to twelve in three
stations. There are thirteen fulltime union employees assigned to each of
three 24 on/48 off crews, one of which is the shift captain. The central
station houses three administrative officers on the weekdays. The
north and south stations each have a union member weekday captain to supplement
staffing.
Miami Township maintains two
paramedics per ambulance and generally have each engine company staffed with two
paramedics. Engine companies respond with ambulances to EMS calls when the
dispatch nature indicates a possible critical patient and when the primary
district ambulance it out of station. All engines carry a full compliment
of paramedic equipment.
IAFF 3768 paramedics pride themselves
on aggressive training and the state of the art protocol we operate under.
